HILARY MOORE HEBERT
Hilary Moore Hebert is a professional equestrian, an active philanthropist, and a former journalist. She is the head trainer of Moore Hebert Dressage and has ridden to the Grand Prix level of dressage, earning her United States Dressage Federation bronze, silver, and gold medals, as well as "L" education program certification. Her students range from intermediate beginners to the international levels of eventing and dressage and include a former Olympian and the youngest 5* finisher at the prestigious Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Hilary attended Mount Holyoke College and moved to Washington, D.C. where she was named the Eleanor Merrill scholar at the Philip Merrill School of Journalism at the University of Maryland. From interning for Senator John Kerry's presidential campaign and press office, to working at The Washington Post Corp. as a special sections and Navy Base newspaper copy editor, she finally married her passions when she became the senior editor at Dressage Today magazine.
She has served as the secretary of The Dressage Foundation, on the board of The Potomac Valley Dressage Association and on various committees for charitable causes.
After years of "snowbirding" between summer and winter equestrian seasons in Germantown, Maryland, and Wellington, Florida, Hilary and her family are now based in Florida for the academic year to allow her son to focus on his studies. However, Hilary continues to teach dozens of remote lessons to her students "up north" in Maryland and returns to the family's loving renovated historic Alsikkan Farm every month and throughout the summer for in-person instruction.
