TEAM REVIEW & DECISION
Upon receipt, your application will be reviewed by our Board of Directors and put to a formal vote. You will then be notified whether the application has been accepted or declined.
THINGS TO know BEFORE APPLYING:
Before applying, please review our mission to confirm clear alignment between your proposal and our goals. Your application’s relevance to H-AA’s mission, alignment with our current priorities, and the potential for impact are all critical aspects of our decision-making process.
ONLY qualified public charities under section 501(c)(3) will be considered. Your organization must have a valid US IRS Tax ID.
Organizations must be at least three (3) years old to be considered.
Applications must include a Form 990 from the previous year.
Applications must include a minimum of two (2) letters of reference and/or client testimonials.
Organizations that incorporate live animals into their programs must provide proof of insurance. All animals must also be overseen by a licensed veterinarian and current on vaccinations.
The Human-Animal Alliance does not grant or lend money to individuals, for-profit companies, requests from outside the United States, advocacy groups, and political causes or events.
As a matter of policy, The Human-Animal Alliance does NOT fund overhead expenses. Please do not apply for a grant requesting funds for overhead (e.g., salaries, marketing expenses, software upgrades, etc.) All grant funds must directly impact humans and/or animals.
The Human-Animal Alliance does not fund research projects.
If a grant is awarded to your organization, you will be notified and sent a formal grant agreement to be signed/accepted. If your application is denied, you will receive a response with a brief explanation of our decision.
Submission of an application (or invitation by H-AA to submit an application) does NOT imply a commitment of funding from The Human-Animal Alliance.
Only complete applications will be considered.
Applications are limited to one (1) per calendar year, per organization.
