The Application Process

Step 1
Prepare To Submit Application

Please read the guidelines presented below and familiarize yourself with the information that will be requested as part of the application process by looking at the full application on our website.

Step 2
Complete Your Application Online

Submit the required documentation and information using our online application. You may request to have a PDF version of the application emailed to you as well to complete and submit via email. There is the capability to save your progress and complete the application later if time does not permit you to complete the application in one session. An email confirmation will be received once the formal proposal has been submitted.

Our Team Will Review Your Application

We may request a site visit as part of the application review process.

Step 4
Notice of Application Decision

Funding decisions will be made on a rolling basis. If a grant is awarded to your request, you will receive notification along with a formal grant agreement to be signed/accepted. If your grant application is denied, you will receive a response stating that it has been declined along with a brief explanation of our decision. There is the opportunity for grants to be renewed. An updated, abbreviated application will need to be completed for consideration in renewing the grant once the current grant has come to a close.

A Detailed Look at Our Application Guidelines

Before applying, we recommend review of our mission statement to gain an understanding of the areas we support and to ensure alignment of your proposal with our mission.

Applications will be evaluated based on their relevance to the Charity’s mission, alignment with Charity priorities, the extent of need, and the potential for impact.

Grants will only be distributed to qualified public entities/charities under section 509 (a) or 501 (c) (3). Your organization must have a valid US IRS Tax ID.

Please note that The Human-Animal Alliance does not grant or lend money to:

  • Individuals
  • For-profit companies
  • Requests from outside of the US
  • Funding for advocacy groups
  • Political causes or events

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Submission of an application does not imply commitment of funding from the Charity.

Applications are limited to one per calendar year for each organization.
